Were on to the Patriots. Were on to the Patriots.

The match up of the ultimate dink and dunk offense vs the Bradley soft zones designed to give those up but make the tackles. Will be a good test of an evolving defense.

Patriots looking good right now against Atlanta. Seem to have fixed whatever was wrong with their defense.

NE defense has a bunch of "nobodys" on paper. But those players really play well in their system and scheme. They have a very flexible and complicate defense that evolve each week to match the opposing offense of that game. The "non-identity" scheme for both offense and defense. Early in the season their defense was confuse and indiscipline but very stout during last couple of games. Their units always improve and play better week by week during the season. I'm afraid we caught them at a bad time.

On our side, we look like a team with many talented individuals with shiny stats and productions that look good on paper, but still seem uncomfortable, uneasy and having a hard time executing with each other like a tight unit, perform as a unit. This should improve as the season go on if we have good coaches and coachable players.

As far as getting better each week, I think that applies to us too.

I don't want to steel Rich's thunder but the Chargers are +5 at the Patriots on an early line. TBH, I expect that spread to increase, based on tonight's game.

Brady has 262 passing attempts just 6 more attempts than Rivers, but Brady has been sacked 18 time compared to Rivers 10 sacks. Bosa, Ingram, and Mcain need to bring their "A" sack game to New England. If we can get to Brady early it will be huge!!!!

That's by far the biggest difference with NE from last year. Last year they don't give up many sacks and among the league leaders at that. This year their OL regresses, especially in pass blocking, and Brady are holding the ball longer.

He misses his safety blanket Eldeman. Edelman alone save Brady from at least 10 sacks. Edelman is the only receiver who works out privately with Brady in the offseason on how to defeat blitz, communication and other complicated stuff.

Sometime they create route on their own. Edelman can break off a designate route from the playbook and Brady still know where he is due to their "6th sense". And McDaniel allows them to do that.

Edelman missing is devastating for Brady, it explains why he got sacks twice at much as last year.

Defeating the blitz is much harder now. Amendola is clutch and is okay filling that role but he is no Edelman. Edelman is quicker and actually works out 6 days a week with Brady in every offseason. They understand each other much better. Same with Wes Weiker in that 2007 undefeated season.

Edelman actually is even more effective than Weiker, due to the fact that he was a college QB and understand the offense from both a passer and a receiver standpoints.

I think New England is making a conscious decision to try and throw deep more this year. It may be due to the loss of Edelman as they try and go to what their remaining receivers do best. But a big day from Bosa and Ingram would certainly make things interesting.

I think we beat them. Or at least give them a really, really good fight.

Somewhere along the way to 0-4 I think these guys got tired of being written off and tired of all the close games over the past few years. Now they're playing with that zero fucks given attitude, trying to FINALLY impose their will on people.
